Looking for a place with historic neighborhoods, world-class museums and plenty of green spaces to enjoy on the weekend? If so, then look no further than Raleigh, NC. The “City of Oaks” is also a great spot to consider if you’re planning to temporarily relocate here, as apartments in Raleigh are plentiful.

So, in order to make your search a little easier, we put together a list of the five best neighborhoods for short-term renting in Raleigh for anyone ready to give this charming Southern city a try.

Cambridge

This small, quiet neighborhood is perfect for renters who need a quiet retreat without straying too far from the hustle and bustle of the city center. Located near Creedmoor Road and Wildwood Green Golf Club, Cambridge encourages its residents to enjoy a calm, laidback lifestyle with activities like hiking and cycling taking the spotlight.

Mordecai

One of Raleigh’s oldest neighborhoods, Mordecai is a small and quaint place for both families and young professionals to enjoy the peace and quiet. Plus, its close proximity to downtown Raleigh means that renters here are never more than a 20-minute walk away from the action. What’s more, its convenient location situates it near not only the Raleigh-Durham Airport and Research Triangle Park, but also between William Peace University and Saint Augustine’s University. As such, it’s great for students looking for a scenic neighborhood.

Old Farm

Don’t let the name fool you — there are no actual farms in this neighborhood. That said, it is close to both Lake Johnson Park and a few other green spaces, so renters here can fully enjoy an active lifestyle in the city. And, despite being one of the larger neighborhoods, Old Farm manages to remain a quiet, pleasant place that’s great for families with young children.

Stonehenge

In spite of what the name might imply, standing stones are not part of this neighborhood’s amenities. Rather, Stonehenge’s lively and energetic atmosphere is a great fit for young professionals who want to remain within the city limits, but also enjoy a quieter lifestyle. And, for families with young children, Santa’s Workshop (a local tourist attraction) is a great treat during the winter months. Meanwhile, nearby facilities — such as Seven Oaks Swim & Racquet Club or Greystone Swim & Racquet Club — have plenty of activities suitable for the whole family.

North Shore

Just a short distance away from Boylan Heights lies North Shore, a neighborhood that includes both Lake Raleigh and the Loonie Poole Golf Course, thereby making it a great location for renters who enjoy the outdoors. What’s more, with to its close proximity to downtown Raleigh (as well as access to green spaces), North Shore also offers potential residents the quiet and comfort of a small community, while still staying within reach of the city center.
